Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 August 2026

Seize Day runs on your device. There's no account to create and no sign-in, and what you write is yours — export it or delete all of it at any time. To keep the app free, we show ads sourced from advertising networks (for example, Meta Audience Network) through the CloudX mediation platform, which uses your device's advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure them. We ask your consent first through a certified consent platform (InMobi CMP) — you can change or withdraw your choice anytime from within the app (Settings › Ad privacy settings), while Apple's App Tracking permission is managed in your device settings. Aside from those ads, we don't sell your data or run other third-party analytics or tracking in the app.

Who this covers

This policy describes how the Seize Day app for iPhone (“Seize Day”) handles your information. Seize Day is published by an independent developer under the Carpe Vitam Tuam brand. There is no company server behind the app. The only third parties that receive any of your data are the advertising partners behind the ads that keep Seize Day free (mediated by CloudX, with consent managed by InMobi CMP) — see “Ads and the data they use” below.

The short version

Seize Day is built to work without knowing who you are. It runs on-device, asks for no account, and keeps what you author privately. The sections below spell out exactly what is stored, where it lives, and the controls you have over it.

Your data is private to you

What you author is stored privately on your device — there's no account to create and no Seize Day server. A future update will let it sync across your own devices through your private iCloud database, where only you can read it. Today, your authored data is device-local: it stays on the iPhone where you entered it and is not synced anywhere. Either way, this covers:

  • Protocols you've adopted
  • Habits and their day-by-day history
  • Metrics you log by hand
  • Quotes, goals, and your bucket list

When iCloud sync is enabled in a future update, your data would move through your own private iCloud account, governed by Apple's privacy policy. It would still never pass through a Seize Day server, because there isn't one.

Apple Health stays on this device

Anything read from Apple Health is kept as a local, device-only cache to power the loop. It's never written to iCloud or any server, and isn't shared between your devices — each device reads its own Apple Health.

  • Apple Health metrics (steps, heart rate, sleep, and so on)

Your source health data lives in Apple Health; Seize Day only keeps a recomputable copy on the device, and you choose what it may read through the standard iOS permission prompts. You can revoke that access at any time in the iOS Settings app.

Reminders and diagnostics

Your daily reminder time and the app's on-device diagnostics are stored only on this device and are never synced or sent anywhere. Notifications are scheduled locally by iOS; Seize Day does not operate a push server. Diagnostics exist purely to help the app run well on your device — they are not transmitted to anyone.

Ads and the data they use

Ad partners via CloudX. To keep Seize Day free, its ads are sourced from advertising networks (for example, Meta Audience Network) through the CloudX mediation platform, whose SDKs collect data such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, and ad interactions to serve and measure ads — personalized only where you consent. Consent is gathered by InMobi CMP, an IAB-certified consent platform, and each ad partner processes this data under its own privacy policy.

That's the only data collection in the app. Everything you author, and everything read from Apple Health, stays on your device and is never shared with advertisers. On first launch we ask for your consent to personalized ads and show Apple's App Tracking prompt; ads are personalized only if you agree, and non-personalized otherwise. You can reopen your ad-consent choice anytime from within the app (Settings › Ad privacy settings) — in the EEA and UK you can withdraw consent there, and in the US you can opt out of sale/sharing there — while Apple's App Tracking permission is changed in your device settings. For privacy-preserving measurement we rely on Apple's SKAdNetwork. A paid upgrade to remove ads is planned.

Your data, your controls

  • Export: from the Data tab, save everything you've authored as a JSON file. (Apple Health data isn't included — it lives in Apple Health.)
  • Delete all: from the Data tab, permanently erase everything — your authored data and the local Apple Health cache — from this device (and from your private iCloud once syncing is enabled). This can't be undone.

You're also always in control of what Apple Health data the app may read, through iOS's own permission settings.

Your rights (EEA/UK and beyond)

If you're in the EEA or UK, the personalized ads described above are shown only on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw it at any time from within the app under Settings › Ad privacy settings; withdrawing doesn't stop ads, it makes them non-personalized. You also have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. For the data you author, use Export and Delete all in the Data tab; for the advertising data held by ad partners, see the CloudX and ad-network privacy policies linked above. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — Seize Day is published from the UK, so that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), or your local data protection authority if you're in the EEA. Children

Seize Day is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children. It requires no account, and aside from the advertising data described above it collects nothing itself, so it does not knowingly gather personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this stance ever changes, the updated policy will appear here — and within the app — before the change takes effect. The “last updated” date above will reflect the latest revision.

About this website

Everything above describes the Seize Day iPhone app. This website (seize-day.com) uses Google Analytics to measure visits. Analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the consent banner — decline, and no analytics cookies are set. The site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and this is separate from the app's on-device privacy described above.
